Get to know Becky:

What do you like most about working for the Berry Recruitment Group and what are you most proud of ?

What is your experience?

Oooh – long and to begin with, quite varied. I worked for 7 years for the BBC as a Production Assistant on live and pre-recorded shows such as Blue Peter, Top of the Pops, Crufts, amongst a collection of other popular shows, before going on to work for Telecommunications company, Orange, (now EE), and from there a stint for a company called Capita, where I fell in love with recruitment! I’ve stayed with the industry ever since in a career that has spanned, well, let’s just say more than 20 years!

How did you get into the industry?

I was lucky enough to meet a recruiter who took the time to listen to me, understand my skillset thoroughly and my aspirations, and believed in me. And most importantly, the recruiter took action for me and made some opportunities happen. And hey, every good recruiter knows that if you want anything in recruitment to happen, you have to make it happen! They supported me through interviews, the offer stage, and when I was settling into my first training role – and in fact, we are still in touch today!

What’s the best thing about working at BRG’s Head Office?

I would say I love the fact that my colleagues accept that I’m a little bit crazy. I love working with all of them, and my boss, Chris Chown, is a fantastic man: warm, supportive and fortunately he has a wicked sense of humour and tolerates all my ‘antics’ with such grace. The training department wouldn’t be what it is today without his guiding wisdom!
